Farbacoat Polyester

Abrasive resistant two-component thick-layer coatings with a high content of solids and high corrosion resistance. Composition based on isophthalic polyester resin and a number of special organic and inorganic fillers and additives.

Product Description: Abrasive resistant two-component thick-layer coatings with high solids content and high corrosion resistance. They are a composition based on isophthalic polyester resin and a number of special organic and inorganic fillers and additives.

Depending on the type and number of special fillers and additives of the coating of the Farbacoat Polyester series, the following modifications are made:

  1. «Farbacoat POLYESTER 41» — primer, for priming and impregnating glass materials, applied by brush, roller, airless spraying;
  2. «Farbacoat POLYESTER 42» — for lining pipes by the centrifugal method;
  3. «Farbacoat POLYESTER 43» — lining, for application by brush or roller;
  4. «Farbacoat POLYESTER 44» — lining, increased thixotropy, for applying with a spatula;
  5. «Farbacoat POLYESTER 45» — repair, for filling of shells, cracks, cavities and alignment (smoothing) of welds, drawing with a spatula.

ADVANTAGES

  • very high adhesion to steel and concrete surfaces
  • high mechanical stability
  • coatings are resistant to the damaging effects of aggressive media

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

  • used to protect internal surfaces of pipelines, metal tanks, tanks, process equipment, concrete tanks, general-purpose metal structures where high protection against chemical attack is required, as well as at high abrasive and impact loads of the environment

APPLICATION METHOD

Coatings of the Farbacoat POLYESTER series are supplied in two containers. It is necessary to mix such an amount that will be guaranteed to be spent within 0.5..1 h in appropriate proportions.

Preparation of the coating — add component II to the mechanically mixed component I and mix thoroughly.

Mix in a weight ratio:

  • component I — 100 m.h.
  • component II — 2 pm

Stir the mixture until uniform.

Long mixing should be avoided to prevent air from entering the mixture.

No need to dilute the product.

Suitability of the mixture is 0.5 hours at 20 ° C. Higher temperatures shorten the life of the mixture, lower temperatures prolong it.

After mixing the components, the product must be used within the indicated pot life.

Application method — after mixing the components

  • airless spraying: Ø0.38-0.53 mm; 15 — 20 MPa
  • brush
  • roller
  • putty knife
  • centrifugation

MODE OF APPLICATION

Surface — the better the surface is cleaned, the more resistant the coating will be.

The highest chemical and mechanical resistance is obtained by coatings applied directly to steel surfaces that have been sandblasted to at least the degree of cleaning Sa 2½

  • The surface of the steel is dry, free from contamination, degreased — cleaned to at least Sa 2 degree for immersed surfaces or at least to St 2 degree for external surfaces.
  • The surface prepared for coating should be dry, free from salt, grease, dust and other contaminants.
  • Before applying to concrete surfaces, make sure that the surface is clean, free from grease, oil, liquid bitumen and detergents. If the concrete is new (min. C20 / 25), then the milk of lime must be removed. Smooth concrete mechanically bring to a roughness, for example by easy bead-blasting treatment to obtain a profyle CSP-3 (according to ICRI). In case of renovation, the concrete surface should have a minimum profyle of CSP1, as well as adhesion at the level of> 1.0 MPa in the tear test.
  • In the case of coating operation in aggressive conditions, it is recommended to prepare the surface as best as possible and apply subsequent layers until the previous layer is completely cured.
Full cure time of the coating 20oC 15oC
 Days 2 3

Use with caution.

Packages contain appropriate safety signs that must be observed.

Conditions of application and curing of the coating:

  • minimum surface temperature: 12 oC
  • surface temperature above the dew point (avoid condensation)
  • relative air humidity not higher than 85%,
  • good ventilation

Packaging:

  • Component I — metal bucket rev. 20l, net weight — 24.5 kg
  • component II — polypropylene capacity about. 0,55l, net weight — 0,5 kg

SHELF LIFE: when stored in a closed factory packaging at a temperature of 5-35 ° C — 6 months from the date of manufacture for component I (base) and 6 months for component II (hardener).

NOTE! The product is intended for professional industrial use. Information about the safety of the use of the product is contained in the Safety Data Sheet of coatings of the Farbacout POLYESTER series.
